Missing teeth can not only make you feel that your smile is unattractive but can give you more practical problems such as making talking and chewing much more challenging. A dental bridge is a quick and secure way to replace teeth and is also strong and durable. Dental bridges can help restore your smile, stop other teeth from drifting out of place and also help maintain the shape of your face if several teeth are missing.
The dental team at Downing Dental understand just how important it is to have a smile that you feel comfortable with and can be proud of. We offer to fit dental bridges that restore your natural grin and give you a fully functioning set of teeth again so that you can enjoy even the toughest of foods without worry.
What is a dental bridge?
A dental bridge literally bridges the gap between missing teeth. A crown is placed on the tooth or teeth either side of the gap in your gum line and this crown acts as an anchor. A false tooth, or set of false teeth, is then placed in the gap, secured by dental cement and anchored by the crowns on either side. The dental bridge is supported by the natural teeth, and this natural support works to create a natural look and feel to your smile. Dental bridges can last from 5 to 15 years (even longer with good care and a high level of dental hygiene) and getting missing teeth replaced by a dental bridge can make talking and eating much easier and you will once again have the smile you were born to wear.
